Eduard van Wijk (1995) is a photographer living and working in Amsterdam. His work has been published in newspapers such as de Volkskrant and Het Financieele Dagblad (FD).
His practice moves between commissioned projects and personal explorations, driven by a strong interest in culture, transgenerational trauma, fashion, design, crafts, music, and a connection with nature. He approaches photography as a way of engaging with people and surroundings while questioning the realities they inhabit. His images often carry a poetic sensibility, creating space for both clarity and ambiguity, where stories remain open to interpretation.
A photograph is rarely finished at the moment of capture, he searches for the edges of his camera’s capacity, challenging himself to break free from merely functioning for the camera. The process often extends into collage, darkroom work, scanning, printing, or rephotographing. This layered approach allows him to create images that touch ambiguity while inviting reflection, play, and genuine connection.
